Starting in 2012, with the approval of the State Council leadership, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Science and Technology successively selected 10 cities in five provinces and municipalities—Shanxi, Shanghai, Shaanxi, Guizhou, and Gansu—to conduct pilot programs for methanol vehicles. A total of 1,024 methanol vehicles were put into operation, accumulating over 184 million kilometers in total mileage, with individual vehicles reaching up to 24,000 kilometers. These trials comprehensively and systematically validated the adaptability, reliability, economy, safety, and environmental friendliness of methanol vehicles.

Methanol Vehicle Pilot Program

Our company has been closely following the pilot program from the beginning and initiated the development of methanol vehicle engine lubricants. We conducted road tests for methanol-fueled passenger vehicles in Weihai. In 2017 and 2018, we participated in the Kunshan International Commercial Vehicle Exhibition and the Methanol Vehicle Symposium, where we introduced and promoted our methanol vehicle engine lubricants, garnering attention from the Global Methanol Association.

Exhibition Promotion

Moreover, at the 2018 World Congress on Internal Combustion Engines, we presented a special report on our methanol vehicle engine lubricants, which received high recognition from industry experts. In January 2019, we established an industry-academia-research alliance with the Key Laboratory of Internal Combustion Engine Combustion at Tianjin University to jointly conduct bench tests and data collection for methanol vehicle engine lubricants.

They also retrofitted our company's existing National III diesel vehicles with diesel-methanol dual-fuel combustion systems. Currently, we are conducting tests and data collection on the application of our independently developed methanol engine lubricating oil in commercial vehicles. In 2018, under the guidance of the Automotive Standardization Research Institute at the China Automotive Technology and Research Center in Tianjin, expert discussions were held during two meetings, resulting in a draft standard. Throughout the drafting process, the Automotive Standardization Research Institute provided us with many valuable suggestions.
