How much do you know about coolant?
Part.1/ What does coolant do?
①Coolant, also known as antifreeze, primarily serves to cool the engine. It circulates within the engine's cooling system to prevent overheating or excessive cooling, maintaining an optimal operating temperature for proper functioning.
② The coolant also serves functions such as corrosion prevention, rust inhibition, antifreeze protection, and foam reduction!
Part.2/ Why replace the coolant?
①Coolant is generally composed of additives such as ethylene glycol, water, corrosion inhibitors, and defoamers.
② Ethylene glycol, under prolonged high-temperature conditions, converts into acetic acid, which interacts with corrosion inhibitors. Once the inhibitors are depleted, the acetic acid will corrode the metal components of the engine.
③ The coolant must be replaced regularly. Generally, follow the time cycle specified in the vehicle maintenance manual, usually every 2 years or 40,000 kilometers (except for models that come with long-life coolant as standard).
Part.3/ Is it okay not to change the coolant?
①Coolant provides long-term protection for the engine. Even if the coolant deteriorates, its impact on the engine won't be immediately apparent, but over time, issues will emerge.
② After the coolant deteriorates, the water pipe joints will leak, and the rubber hoses will have slight cracks.
③ After the coolant deteriorates, there are signs of corrosion inside the metal water pipes, and the coolant may even feel sticky.
Part.4/ Why replace OAT full organic acid coolant?
①The service life of traditional coolant is generally 2 years or 40,000 kilometers, requiring regular replacement, whereas OAT fully organic acid coolant can last up to 5 years or 300,000 kilometers. Therefore, choosing the right coolant ensures better vehicle protection.
②OAT fully organic acid coolant, with an ultra-low freezing point of -50℃ and a boiling point of 133℃, can prevent high pressure caused by localized engine overheating, extending the service life of the cooling system.
③The superior heat exchange efficiency of OAT fully organic acid coolant ensures better heat dissipation in the cooling system, cooler air conditioning, warmer heating, and more stable engine power.
